Arlesey (A) 1 - 3 Hormead Hares

The under 8's played Hormead Hares C & D at home today.  The match was nearly called off because of the frosty weather.

In the first game Arlesey (a) played really well against a very good and competitive Hormead side both teams passed the ball well and chances were few and far between but saying that both teams had One really good chance each Hormead took theirs and Arlesey did not.  The score was 1 - nil to Hormead at half time.

In the second half our early pressure showed and we were soon level through Ben Chapman, but again we struggled to brake down a very well organised Hormead team.  I made some changes at half time which affected our balance in defence and Hormead found a way through and scored a second, but all praise to the lads/lady they kept going.  In the last minute through our relentless pressure we earned a corner, I pushed Emily up which left us exposed at the back, Hormead broke quickly up field after Ryan Sullivan's shot which was goal bound was deflected forward to their striker and he duly tucked it home.

The game finished Arlesey (A) 1 - 3 Hormead Hares (C).

The best player (man of the match) was awarded to Emily Field for her excellent display in defence.

Arlesey (B) 1 - 3 Hormead Hares

The Arlesey (B) team played with lots of effort again this week and we were unlucky to not score in the first half with Sid and Alex both coming close, but the superior strength of Hormead showed and they were 2 - nil up at half time.

In the second half the game was much more even and we were unlucky to conceded again. but all praise to the lads they did not give up and they piled on the pressure, it showed with an excellent shot from well outside the box by our Sid Cocks which went into the bottom corner, the goalie had no chance (I have spelt his name wrong on previous reports sorry).

Arlesey continued with the pressure and were unlucky not to score again.  The game finished Arlesey (B) 1 - 3 Hormead Hares (D).

The best player was awarded to Ben Meadows for his excellent goal keeping performance. The overall award went to Daniel Tafe for his strength in holding the ball up and his all-round attacking display, the award was chosen by the Hormead Hares manager.  Well done Daniel (Wayne Rooney would have been proud, although your an Arsenal fan).

Arlesey (A) 2 - 1 LetchworthTown Reds

The under 8's played Letchworth Town Reds away.  In the first game Arlesey (a) team this week were a little bit slow of the blocks but once they got going they dominated the first half, but they could not break them down mainly due to what I believe was their best player.  Late on in the first
half Letchworth broke up field and one of their players put in a dangerous cross which Ryan Sullivan tried to cut out but the ball deflected of him and into the goal.  the score was 1 - nil to them at half time.

In the second half our pressure showed and we were soon level through Robbie Britnall, but again we found it had to brake them down, but all praise to the lads/lady they kept going.  Their goalie made an excellent save from a Daniel Tafe shoot and from the resulting corner one of their players handled the ball. Ryan Sullivan took an excellent penalty and scored, the game finished with Arlesey in charge. At the final whistle the score was Arlesey (A) 2 - 1

Arlesey (B) 0 - 2 LetchworthTown Reds

The Arlesey (B) team played with lots of effort again this week and we were unlucky to not score in the first half with Sid and Harley both coming close, the first half ended 0 - 0.

In the second half Letchworth came out stronger and eventually they scored.  Arlesey then piled on the pressure and were unlucky to have a Sid Cox goal disallowed, but they kept the pressure
on and we were unlucky to not have a goal when the ball was cleared of the line (I thought it was over the line).  Right at the end Letchworth broke away and scored, the game finished Arlesey (B) 0 - 2 Letchworth Town Reds
(B).  The best player was awarded to Sid Cox for his Overall performance.
The overall award went to Ryan Sullivan, this was chosen by the Letchworth
Town Reds manager.  Well done Ryan.

The under 8's played Royston town colts.  In the first game Arlesey (a) team played really well against a very good and competitive Royston side both teams passed the ball well and both defences were on top, chances were few and far between, Arlesey came closest with Daniel Tafe hitting the post late on. Royston were holding on at the end and happy to hear the final whistle, the game finished Arlesey (A) 0 - 0 Royston Town Colts (A).

The best player (man of the match) was awarded to Emily Field for her Excellent Defending.

The Arlesey (B) played with lots of effort and apart from a brilliantly
taken goal by their best player the teams were even. The children tried as
hard as they could but could not get an equaliser and the game finished
Arlesey (B) 0 - 1 Royston Town Colts (B).  The best player was awarded to
Ben Chapman for his second half performance. The overall award went to Emily
Field this was chosen by the Royston town colts manager.  Well done Emily.

Arlesey (A) 7 - 0 Bassingbourn

The Arlesey under 8's played Bassingbourn Youth under 8's. The (A) team played first.  An excellent passing display today with Ben Chapman pulling all the strings in midfield. Well done to all the lads and our girl Emily.

Unlucky to Ryan who had an excellent shot cleared of the line. Same again next week lets keep to this level of performance.

The scorers were Daniel Tafe 3 (hat trick) well done Daniel, Ben Chapman 3 (hat trick) well done Ben, last and not least Robbie Britnell 1 (goal) well done Robbie, your first and I am sure not your last.

The man of the match was Daniel Tafe.

Arlesey (B) 2 - 0 Bassingbourn

Following last weeks win the under 8's (B) were up for this game and again played brilliantly with Sid and Jamie marshalling midfield extremely well, Joe and Robbie defended well in the first half, they were replaced by Ryan and Conrad in the second half, for the last six minutes Ryan was replaced by Ben Chapman.

There were two goals both in the second half the first by Sid Cox, a shot low into the bottom corner.  The second scored by Alex Salvaggio an excellent lob over the goalie.

Man of the match was Sid Cox.

Lets keep it up boy's and girl.

The overall man of the match awarded by the opposition manager was Sid Cox.(two weeks on the trot well done Sid).
